Questa scatola non era in vendita ma apparteneva ad un negozio famoso di Roma che vendeva cioccolato e caramelle sfuse. Esisteva in commercio una scatola simile, ma bassa la metà circa di questa, stessa forma, stessi decori ma con soltanto 1 fascia di fiori e non 2. Nel 1826 fu aperto il primo laboratorio della Caffarel. Pier Paul Caffarel arrivò a Torino con la passione per il cioccolato e il suo sogno era quello di aprire un suo laboratorio. Così nel 1826 rileva una piccola conceria ai margini della città e crea il laboratorio, una delle prime fabbriche di cioccolato in Italia e in Europa. Tin Box Caffarel Prochet Torino Drops Vienna Light Green for the Exclusive Use of Retailers and Resellers. This box was not for sale but belonged to a famous shop in Rome that sold loose chocolate and sweets. There was a similar box on the market, but about half as low as this one, same shape, same decorations but with only 1 band of flowers and not 2. In 1826 the first Caffarel laboratory was opened. Pier Paul Caffarel arrived in Turin with a passion for chocolate and his dream was to open his own laboratory. So in 1826 he took over a small tannery on the outskirts of the city and created the laboratory, one of the first chocolate factories in Italy and Europe.
