1950s Wooden Bagatelle Pinball Machine, Floodlit Football - Ordered Off Field, All Balls Lost. Five of the 8 light bulbs are missing but easily found. This is a board game called "Kay Floodlit Football," a football-themed version of the game Bagatelle, the precursor to pinball. Bagatelle has French origins and is played by pushing marbles on a tilted table toward specific targets. In Italy, France, and other European countries, this type of game is commonly called "flipper," a term derived from the small "flippers" used to hit the marbles. In "Kay Floodlit Football," balls are thrown and, as they fall into different sections, award points based on the football score (for example, "Penalty Kick" 150 points, "Goal" 200 points, "Minus" 25 points).
